"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, analyses international current affairs on a weekly basis.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has used his State of the Union address to harshly attack Trump and vindicate his candidacy. Biden and Trump both won on Super Tuesday and are close to being the candidates vying for the White House. He has also discussed a number of global issues such as the wars in Gaza and Ukraine.

On the other hand, the symbolic ceremony of raising the Swedish flag at NATO headquarters will take place next Monday. But for all intents and purposes, Sweden is now the 32nd member of NATO and its army is already integrated into the Atlantic military structure.

NATO reinforces the Arctic and Baltic with its largest-ever manoeuvres. The Alliance deployed the largest number of troops in Norway since the Cold War with 20,000 soldiers. The Kremlin's response has been swift: it calls the exercises an "escalation of tensions".

Meanwhile, the chances of a truce in the Gaza war before the start of Ramadan seem remote. Israel continues its operations in several parts of Gaza while the United States announces that it will open a port in the strip to distribute humanitarian aid, without its soldiers setting foot on Gazan soil.

In addition, the war in Ukraine continues. Russia attacked Odessa while Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky was with the Prime Minister of Greece. European ammunition may arrive in the coming days. The situation of women in Ukraine has deteriorated due to violence caused by post-traumatic stress disorder among some fighters. The journalist and correspondent María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will offer the keys to the war conflict on Ukrainian territory.

As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will discuss the crisis in the Middle East with the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, the war in Ukraine, the speech by US President Joe Biden and the new relationship between Sweden and NATO.

"De cara al mundo", Friday, 8 March from 22:05 to 23:00.
