"De cara al mundo": international analysis on Onda Madrid

"De cara al mundo", the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, analyses current affairs around the world on a weekly basis.
The Democrats in the United States have completed Kamala Harris's electoral team with the election of the governor of Minnesota, Jim Walz, as their vice-presidential candidate. Both Democrats and Republicans are intensifying their campaign in the states considered key to winning the elections: Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Minnesota, to which must be added the doubts about Arizona and Nevada. Another important state such as Florida seems likely to fall on Trump's side, who is unable to regain the initiative and appears to be in a state of disarray. José María Peredo, Professor of Communication and International Relations, will give us the keys to the US election campaign.
Meanwhile, the war in Gaza continues. The Israeli government has authorised the sending of a delegation to negotiate with Hamas - with the mediation of the United States and Qatar - the release of the hostages. Meanwhile, attacks continue in the Gaza Strip. The more radical side of Hamas terrorists has taken control of the organisation following the election as leader of Yahya Sinwar, mastermind of the 7 October massacre.
The war in Ukraine also continues. The incursion of a Ukrainian army unit into Russia's Kursk region is demonstrating the weaknesses of Putin's army. They have already captured 130 square kilometres in Kursk and Putin is sending in Wagner and the Chechens in order to repel the Ukrainian incursion.
On the other hand, we will talk about the situation in Venezuela. As the days go by, the Chavista dictatorship is holding on to power despite the mass demonstrations demanding Nicolás Maduro's ouster. The regime's tactic is to buy time with extravagant decisions such as asking citizens to uninstall the WhatsApp application from their mobile phones.
Brazilian President Lula da Silva is leading the main diplomatic initiative to get Maduro to hand over the records and then seek a negotiated solution. The opposition denounces detentions and torture of minors.
The journalist and correspondent María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will offer the most interesting insights into international politics.
As every day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will discuss the election campaign in the United States, the war between Israel and Hamas, the conflict in Ukraine and the situation in Venezuela.
"De cara al mundo", Friday 9 August from 22:05 to 23:00.
