‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, deals with international current affairs every week.

Diplomatic relations between France and Morocco are going through an exceptional moment. The Moroccan King, Mohammed VI, offered Emmanuel Macron, President of France, a bath of crowds on his arrival in Rabat and a Renewed Exceptional Partnership was sealed.

Emmanuel Macron delivered a speech to the Moroccan Parliament on the second day of his state visit to Morocco in which he reaffirmed France's strong and solid position on Western Sahara in support of the Moroccan kingdom.

In fact, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated the map of Morocco on its website to include Western Sahara as Moroccan territory.

The King of Morocco and the French President presided, during the first day of the French President's official visit to Rabat, over the signing ceremony of 22 agreements between the two countries in different vital sectors: High Speed Train, energy, agriculture, decarbonisation, infrastructure, logistics, investments in Western Sahara and other sectors in what represents a strategic partnership called the Renewed Exceptional Partnership, signed by Mohammed VI and Emmanuel Macron, personally.

Gustavo de Arístegui, diplomat and expert international analyst, will analyse this new dimension in Franco-Moroccan relations before the microphones of ‘De cara al mundo’.

Meanwhile, the US presidential elections are approaching. Kamala Harris closes her events with a rally in Washington, the same place where Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to take over the Capitol. The polls are very close for Tuesday 5 November, when the new US president will be elected.

Meanwhile, the war in Gaza and Israel's Lebanon against Hamas and Hezbollah continues. The Israeli army continues its military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, while Hezbollah has announced the name of its new leader, Naim Qassen, successor to Hasan Nasrallah.

The journalist and correspondent María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will offer the most important key points on these issues.

As every day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will talk about the state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Morocco, the strengthening of Franco-Moroccan ties, the US elections, the Middle East crisis with Israel's wars in Gaza and Lebanon, and Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 1 November from 10.05pm to 11pm.
