‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, provides weekly analysis of world news.

The war in Ukraine continues. Europeans are placing their trust in Donald Trump after Thursday's telematic meeting between the US president and a number of leaders convened by German Chancellor Merz.

The agreement is that the first thing to be achieved at the Trump-Putin meeting is a ceasefire and that any negotiations on territories must include Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to advance on several fronts in the Donbas.

Journalist and correspondent María Senovilla will shed light on the matter in ‘De cara al mundo’.

Meanwhile, the war in Gaza also continues. The Israeli Army Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, approved on Wednesday the next phase of the Gaza occupation plan presented on Friday by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu's plan to occupy Gaza City has five clear objectives: to disarm Hamas, free all Israeli hostages still held by the Islamist group, demilitarise the Strip, take full control of security and establish ‘an alternative civilian administration that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority’.

Expert international analyst Lucas Martín will explain the most relevant points.

As every day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. The discussion will focus on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 15 August from 10.05 p.m. to 11 p.m.
