The programme analyses the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel and the national political crisis, the coronation of Charles III as King of Great Britain and the progress of the war in Ukraine

"De cara al mundo": international analysis on Onda Madrid

"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, offers the keys to international current affairs on a weekly basis.

It is the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel and the situation is not the best for the celebration. On the one hand, the internal crisis is not abating due to the popular rejection of Prime Minister Netanyahu's judicial reform, which is dangerously polarising Israeli society. On the other hand, clashes with the Palestinians are intensifying, as they continue to fire rockets at the Israeli population following the death by hunger strike of an Islamic Jihad leader imprisoned in Israel. Marta González Isidoro, journalist and expert international analyst, will offer the keys to the current political situation in Israel.

Meanwhile, everything is set for this Saturday's coronation of King Charles III, an event that aims to reform the role and image of a new style of monarchy in British society. His views on climate change and inequality break with his mother's tradition of not making her political positions public. In this way, he tries to get closer to the street. Thousands of people take positions to be in the front line and international guests arrive in London. Miguel Ángel Idígoras, RTVE journalist, will explain the details of this great event and its repercussions.

The war in Ukraine continues. Russia continues bombing some Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kiev, in response to the alleged attempt to kill Vladimir Putin with two drones that attacked the Kremlin. Some are calling for the killing of Ukrainian President Zelenski and the Russians are blaming the US for the situation, while Washington denies it all. At the International Criminal Court, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has called for Putin to sit in the dock for war crimes. Zelenski has met with the Dutch authorities and insisted on the request for F-16 fighter jets and more weapons to contain Russian attacks and launch the expected counteroffensive. For the time being, Ukrainian forces continue to attack fuel depots on Russian territory.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has accused the Russian Defence Minister of being responsible for the deaths of some of his mercenaries for not providing them with the ammunition they need in Bakhmut. The paramilitary leader claims that there is a lot of movement of Ukrainian troops and considers that the counteroffensive has already begun. María Senovilla, special envoy to Ukraine, and Lucas Martín, expert international analyst, will discuss the war situation in Ukraine in depth.

As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will discuss the war in Ukraine, the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel and Israeli political problems, the coronation of Charles III and the political crisis and armed conflict in Sudan.

"De cara al mundo", Friday 5 May from 22:05 to 23:00.
