Expo Dubai 2020 focuses on climate change solutions

This October, Dubai World Expo 2020 will address environmental concerns and possible solutions as part of the Expo Live Impact Series, which will take place during Climate and Biodiversity Week, the event's first themed week.
Running from 3-9 October, Climate and Biodiversity Week will bring together experts and innovators from around the world for a series of panel discussions, addressing everything from carbon footprints and single-use plastics to clean energy adoption and recycling.
Contributors come from countries as diverse as Chile, Portugal, China, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, India, Armenia, Morocco, Italy, Argentina and Bahrain, and speakers will present case studies and real-life experiences to help uncover solutions to major environmental problems.
On 4 October, 'Reducing our footprint (and the technology that can help)' will take place at The Hub, located on the first floor of the Expo Live Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, at 16:00, featuring Luhui Yan from China, founder of Carbon Stop; Chile's José Manuel Moller, founder of Algramo; Andy Tomkins from the UK, director of EMEA Sustainability Engagement at Canon; and Marta Tomzka, head of e-government digitisation in Serbia.
On 5 October at 16:00, the focus will shift to 'Powering communities with clean energy (and easy financing)', with a line-up of speakers including Chile's Cristian O'Ryan, founder of Endurance Electric; and Portugal's Vivian Vendeirinho, founder of RVE.SOL. On the same day at 17:00 there will be a discussion on 'A green recovery', exploring reforestation and restoring nature's balance, with Atle Idland, founder of Desert Control from Norway; Rebekah Braswell, founder of Land Life from the Netherlands; and Elena Gorokhova from Russia, founder of PosadiLes.
'Changing the course of single-use plastics' will be the theme on 6 October at 16:00, with a panel discussion with Georgina De Kock from South Africa, founder of Munch Bowls; Nishant Singhal from India, founder of Ecoware; and Ivan Zakharov from Russia, CTO of CLEAPL.
On 7 October at 16:00, the focus will shift to circular economies and waste management solutions, with a panel discussion on 'Recycling that makes a difference', with speakers including Siddharth Hande from India, founder of Kabadiwalla Connect; Irina Mkrtchyan, founder of ISSD from Armenia; Saif Eddine Laalej from Morocco, CEO of Zelij Invent; and Martin Basila from Slovakia, founder of Sensoneo.
On 8 October at 16:00, the 'Expo Live Impact Series' will conclude with a discussion on 'Collaborating with Nature', with the following speakers: Tariq al-Olaimy from Bahrain, co-founder of Public-Planet Partnerships (PPP); and Italy's Alessandro Bianciardi, founder of Planet di Villa Alessandro.
