Several nations have wanted to show their recognition and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in its international assistance efforts to combat COVID-19, a plague that has already left more than 388,000 dead and over 6.5 million cases diagnosed worldwide.

The UAE has been cooperating with several countries for months to help in the fight against the current coronavirus health crisis, as well as to address the problem on its own territory, where 273 people have died and more than 37,000 have been affected.

In this regard, ambassadors from various countries, including the Arab world, acknowledged the leadership of the UAE in humanitarian work and assistance against the current scourge that is plaguing the planet. Arab and foreign embassies in the Gulf country stressed that the UAE has demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic that it is a "pioneer in humanitarian work" and is "always prepared to help all countries, even in the most difficult circumstances".

It is important to highlight the great work of support that the Emirates has given to the fight against the coronavirus in the United Kingdom. With outstanding actions such as the field hospital that was installed in the ExCeL exhibition centre in London, owned by the National Exhibition Company of Abu Dhabi (ADNEC); a centre that was given to the British National Health Service (NHS) to constitute the temporary NHS Nightingale hospital, with 4,000 beds to serve patients affected by the coronavirus. The Middle Eastern country is redoubling its efforts to support other nations in mitigating the effects of the feared coronavirus and its collaboration has already reached 62 countries. In conjunction with institutions such as the World Health Organization (WHO).

In addition, the Emirates' Ambassador to the United States, Yousef al-Otaiba, met with the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, to give a message of support and solidarity from Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the Emirates' Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in this difficult situation.
