Last days to participate in the VIII Journalism Awards against Gender Violence "Allies for Integration"

The Aliados por la Integración Foundation announces the 8th Journalism Awards against Gender Violence, which aim to recognise and reward journalistic work that contributes to the defence and dissemination of values against this social scourge. The competition is now in its eighth year, having received more than 800 entries since its creation.
These awards seek the complicity of the media in contributing to the eradication of gender violence, thanks to rigorous information aimed at victims and society as a whole about their rights and the instruments provided for their protection.
The rules, which can be downloaded from the website aliadosporlaintegracion.org, establish that works published in the Spanish media between 18 November 2022 and 29 October 2023, inclusive, are eligible for the award. There are three categories: Written Media (newspapers, magazines or accredited digital media), Radio-Podcast and Television, each with a cash prize of 3,000 euros.
Journalists interested in participating should send their work to the e-mail address premioperiodismo@aliadosporlaintegracion.org, with their personal details and a brief CV. The prizes will be awarded at a ceremony to be held in Madrid in November, coinciding with the International Day against Gender Violence. The winners will be notified sufficiently in advance so that they can collect the prize in person.

Professional jury
A jury made up of prominent media professionals will choose the best works, based on their quality, research effort, sensitivity and appropriate informative treatment.
In the last edition, the jury was made up of Almudena Fontecha, president of the Executive Committee of Fundación Aliados por la Integración, Nemesio Rodríguez, journalist and former president of the Federation of Spanish Journalists' Associations (FAPE), Alfonso Nasarre, director of Onda Madrid, Pilar García Muñiz, host of Mediodía COPE, Pilar Álvarez, head of Última Hora in El País, Óscar Vázquez, deputy director of Antena3 Noticias, Raquel Benito, editor-in-chief of El Confidencial, Alfonso Rodríguez, director of Colpisa, Myriam Noblejas, journalist, and Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar and contributor to various media.
Commitment to employment
In addition to its awareness-raising objective, Aliados por la Integración remains committed to promoting employment opportunities that enable victims of gender-based violence to access stable jobs. Since 2015, Aliados has been part of the Business Network for a society free of gender-based violence, an initiative that seeks to create a platform for job placement that helps victims to break with their past.
