Morocco's participation in the Madrid Gastronomy Fair aims to reinforce this positive dynamic by promoting national products with high added value and thus contribute to the expansion of high-quality Moroccan products in the European market.

The event is recognised as the largest gastronomy and quality products fair in Europe, providing Morocco with the perfect platform to showcase its gastronomy and promote its quality products internationally. In addition to Morocco's participation, the Salon Gourmet programme features more than 50 different activities.  

With a track record of more than 35 years, the Madrid Gastronomy Fair is a benchmark for the European food industry and offers a unique opportunity to explore the latest trends and innovations in the sector.

Kingdom of Morocco: Country of Honour

In the 348 m2 exhibition pavilion, Morocco, under the slogan "Kingdom of Morocco, Country of Honour", will showcase its culinary know-how and the richness and quality of its products with 15 exhibitors representing the fish, olives and local agricultural products sectors. 

Morocco will be the country of honour at the 37th Salon Gourmet. Over four days, visitors will be able to discover the country's gastronomic culture in unique spaces in three pavilions.

It is a great opportunity to taste the food and typical gastronomic products of the Moroccan Maghreb country, a public institution in charge of agriculture, sea fishing, rural development and the control and coordination of water and forests. Agricultural sector and fishery exports. 

As part of its export promotion and development programme, Morocco Foodex participates in major international speciality fairs such as Salon Gourmets, demonstrating the richness of exotic gastronomy through presentations, culinary shows and various events.

It is a unique exhibition showcasing high quality food and beverages on the global market. Olive oil, as well as vegetables, nuts, citrus fruits and wild coastal fish are just some of the foods you can find in your pantry.

Morocco's participation aims to strengthen its position in the European market and increase the visibility of its gastronomic products, continuing the growing trend of agri-food exports to Spain, whose value and volume increased significantly last year. 

The latest indicators on bilateral trade in the agri-food sector between Morocco and Spain show steady progress. At the end of November 2023, Morocco's agri-food exports to Spain amounted to 18.6 billion dirhams, representing 25% of Morocco's total exports in this sector.

Activities, prizes and programme of the Salon Gourmet

Organised at the IFEMA exhibition centre (Av. Partenón 5, Madrid), the Gourmet Show will feature more than 2,000 exhibitors, more than 55,000 gastronomic products and an estimated 4,000 B2B meetings between business people from more than 50 countries.  

During the event, prizes will be awarded to the best representative of the wine sector, to the most influential professionals in the gastronomy sector, a prize for the best wine according to a tasting done by the attendees, and a prize for the team that creates the most "unique gastronomic product that represents, with its launch on the market, a breakthrough for the sector and for consumers".

The event's jury will be made up of: Verónica Puente, director International Section-FIAB, Purificación González Camacho, deputy director general of Food Promotion-MAPA, José Luis Yzuel, president of FEHR-Hostelería de España, María Naranjo, director of the Agri-Food Industry-ICEX, Íñigo Pérez, from the Urrechu Group, and Pedro Larumbe, from the Larumbe Group.
