Due to the current health situation, Morocco has decided to suspend all activities, celebrations and ceremonies scheduled for the Throne Festival, which commemorates the 23rd anniversary of the coronation of King Mohammed VI. However, the monarch will address the Moroccan people in a speech. Here is the full statement released by the Moroccan news agency, MAP:
"The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announces that, in view of the continuation of the preventive measures imposed by the evolution of the health situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided to postpone all activities, celebrations and ceremonies scheduled on the occasion of the 23rd Anniversary of the ascension of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, to the Throne of his Glorious Ancestors.
In this context, it has been decided to postpone the reception ceremony presided over by His Majesty the King, may God glorify him, on this glorious occasion, the swearing-in ceremony of the new officers graduated from the various military, paramilitary and civilian schools and institutes, and the ceremony of allegiance to Amir Al-Mouminine, may God preserve him, as well as all parades and events that will be attended by a large number of citizens.
On this glorious occasion, His Majesty the King, may God preserve him, will address his faithful people.
May God preserve His Majesty the King, grant him a long life and keep him for the sake of his faithful people. May He grant the Sovereign in the person of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid and all members of the illustrious Royal Family.
