ODHE commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The Observatorio de los Derechos Humanos de España (ODHE) commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with an event in the auditorium of the Instituto de Formación Integral en Seguridad y Emergencias (IFISE) of the Community of Madrid, located on the Carretera de Colmenar Viejo, at kilometre 13.600, in Madrid.

The event is organised by the ODHE itself and the International Police Association (IPA Spain), with the collaboration of the IFISE, the media El Español and the Academy of Diplomacy of the Kingdom of Spain. It will be held on 12 December 2023, starting at 9.30 am, in the IFISE conference room.

All attendees will receive as a gift the illustration, specially created for this commemoration, created by the designer Kico F. Uribe, which recreates the historical period in which the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drafted and approved.

- Signing of the agreement between IPA Spain and ODHE.

10.15 h. SPEECHES "CURRENT HORIZON OF HUMAN RIGHTS".

Mr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, President of the Fundación Cultura y Paz.

Ms. Cruz Sánchez de Lara Sorzano, Vice-President of El Español.

11.00 h. ACT OF DIPLOMATIC RECOGNITION

The Human Rights Observatory of Spain, together with IPA Spain, will present the "Illustration of the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration" to the diplomatic representatives of the countries of those men and women who played a significant role in the drafting and adoption of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and who appear in the aforementioned commemorative illustration.

The illustration has been created by the designer Kico F. Uribe exclusively for this event and recreates the historical stage before and after the drafting and approval of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it is therefore an exclusive and numbered edition, consisting of only 75 copies of 100X70 cm.

12.15 h. ACT OF INSTITUTIONAL RECOGNITION

The Spanish Human Rights Observatory, together with IPA Spain, will present the "Illustration of the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration" to representatives of Spanish institutions that constitute the main institutional and legal framework of human rights in Spain.

12.30 h. PRESENTATION OF BADGES OF HONOUR AND THANKS FROM ODHE

Members of the Observation Committee of the Spanish Human Rights Observatory will present the insignia of honour and thanks to the people who have collaborated and made possible the commemorative act of the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

At the end of the event, at the exit, all attendees will be given a reproduction of the 75th Anniversary illustration in the same size as the numbered edition.
