Professor Farid El Bacha honoured in Paris for his commitment as an ambassador of solutions for Africa

Farid El Bacha, President of the Mohammed V University of Rabat and Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences, was awarded the Medal of Honour in Paris for his commitment as an ambassador of solutions for Africa during the official ceremonial session on the occasion of the second edition of the Africa Solutions Week (SAS). 

During the official ceremonial session that took place between 20 and 21 September 2024 in Paris, Professor Farid El Bacha was thus awarded one of the most relevant African distinctions that recognises the ‘remarkable contribution to Africa's development’. 

The second edition of Africa Solutions Week is scheduled to take place in France and Morocco in September and October 2024, with the aim of awarding the Medal of Honour to between 300 and 500 Africa Solutions Ambassadors. 

This is a large and diverse network of solution creators dedicated to identifying and amplifying innovative and constructive initiatives that have a positive impact on major global and African issues. They are extraordinary professional and pioneering men and women from all walks of life and from a wide range of sectors who are working together to solve issues on the African continent. 

The laureates work every day to improve conditions in Africa in all areas: health, education, culture, environment, sport, agriculture, new technologies, science, economy, heritage, art.... They use their talents and professional experience to serve the cause and commit themselves to the common good and the development and future of the African continent. These personalities make a lasting contribution to the creation of a better Africa, a continent of hope and solutions, inspiring everyone with their attitude and values. 

In his speech, Professor El Bacha expressed his gratitude for this distinction and the confirmation of his commitment to the development of Africa. He also alluded to the inspiration he received from His Majesty King Mohammed VI's vision for the future, which points to a strong, promising and respectful African nation with Morocco's vision, as reported by NewsPlus. 

Farid El Bacha is president of the Mohammed V University of Rabat in Morocco and dean of the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences, former advisor to the General Secretariat of the National Council for Youth and the Future, founder and president of the Moroccan Centre for Legal Studies, as well as founder of the Moroccan Institute of Law and executive president of the Centre for Studies and Research on Hebrew Law in Morocco. He has also written numerous articles on commercial law. 

As deputy president of the Ribat Al Fath Association for sustainable development, Professor El Bacha is responsible for the preparation of national and international scientific meetings, including the annual conference on Morocco-Europe relations in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
