The Spanish Pavilion at the Dubai World Expo 2020, which will be held from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, presents a cultural programme with 32 Spanish companies, with more than 200 artists and nearly 100 performances, which will take place both in the Spanish Pavilion and on the main stages of the Expo Dubai site (Jubilee Stage, Terra Auditorium, Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre, Earth Stage), as well as two performances in the framework of the Sharjah Book Fair, where Spain is the guest of honour.

The Music and Performing Arts Programme of the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 is the result of a public call for proposals that received more than 400 proposals. The aim was to offer the largest possible number of Spanish artists the opportunity to present their work in Dubai. The result is a diverse programme for all kinds of audiences, based on Spanish culture and integrating traditional proposals with more contemporary and innovative ones. For children and families, during the Christmas season there will be workshops, magic shows and street theatre in the Pavilion. There will also be street theatre performances throughout other periods of the Expo in public areas of the site.

The programme kicks off with Miguel Poveda, whose performance is part of the Expo Beats Festival, on 8 October on the Jubilee Stage.

In addition to Poveda, there will be other representatives of flamenco, which will be one of the mainstays of the programme with names such as Rosario La Tremendita and María Terremoto, among others. There will also be Spanish music in its different styles; old music with the medieval music ensemble Artefactum and the Renaissance flute quartet Piacere dei Traversi. Classical music with violinist Lina Tur Bonet and pianist Alba Ventura; the Spanish guitar of Miguel Trápaga and José María Gallardo del Rey. Dance is represented in the programme with important companies such as the Ballet Nacional de España and the company of Jesús Rubio Gamo among others. Theatre features Isabel Vázquez's creation 'La Maldición de los Hombres Malboro', and shows such as Tiritirantes, Bubble Factory and Maduixa Company's 'Mulïer', all of which are part of a long list of top-quality names.
