The King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, has given orders to send rescue teams and all necessary aid to Spain to deal with the harsh consequences of the floods in the Valencian Community.

The torrential rains and floods have left more than 70 people dead in the Valencian Community, as well as an unknown number of people missing, including in adjacent areas of Castilla-La Mancha, and have also caused numerous material losses.

Following these floods, which have devastated several enclaves in eastern Spain, King Mohammed VI instructed the Moroccan Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, to meet his Spanish counterpart by telephone to coordinate aid.

During the conversation, the Moroccan minister informed his Spanish counterpart that, in accordance with the instructions of the King of Morocco, the North African country is fully prepared to send rescue teams and provide all the necessary aid to Spain to deal with this natural disaster, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.

He also reiterated his condolences and solidarity with the Spanish authorities and the families of the victims, according to the same source.
