Madrid epicentre of the best futsal in the world

Next Tuesday will be the presentation of the tournament with the draw for the quarter-finals. Let's remember that the top eight teams in the league after the end of the first round will take part.

The chosen venue is the spectacular Wizink Center of the Community of Madrid, a perfect place for its spacious facilities and the possibility of keeping all the COVID-19 measures. The presence of the public has not yet been confirmed. On the Wizink Center website it says "TICKETS ON SALE SOON".  The Copa del Rey Handball Cup is currently being held with a reduced capacity audience.

The eight qualified teams are finally known. Due to the exceptional circumstances and force majeure derived from the COVID-19 there were several postponed matches. This made it difficult to have the classification updated. Finally, the teams will be: Jimbee Cartagena, Levante UD FS, Movistar Inter, Palma Futsal, El Pozo Murcia Costa Cálida, Barça, Viña Albali Valdepeñas and Fútbol Emotion Zaragoza.

Jaén were knocked out in the last game and gave their place to Zaragoza. The Andalusian team won the Cup twice in previous editions, but will not participate this year. 

The current champion is Barça, who won the last edition held in Málaga, at the Palacio de los Deportes José María Martín Carpena.

In the draw to be held on Tuesday, two teams will start as seeded teams, Jimbee Cartagena, winter champions, and Levante UD FS, second in the standings at the end of the first round. The rest of the pairings will be drawn by lot.

The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be single-legged.

Radio Televisión Española's Teledeporte channel will broadcast all the matches free-to-air.
Barça is the favourite and current champion, having won the title five times. But Movistar Inter has won it the most times with ten. El Pozo Murcia has won it four times.

From 25 March, the best players in the world such as Sergio Lozano, Ferrao, Pito, Mellado, Alberto García, Herrero and Didac will be in action.
