The death throes of the decadent international community

IC refers in some way to the representation, albeit hypothetical or virtual, of a universal morality or sentiment, mostly shared by many of the world's governments and citizens.
The dictionary ends by acknowledging that, given the real circumstances, the palpable results of this concept do not constitute anything tangible in themselves, despite the sometimes excessive use of the term by the media, political leaders and the general public.
A fact that can be contrasted because the pathetic invocation of IC usually arises -without much positive result- in times of crisis, insisting on promoting the idea that a majority of States or individuals in the world condemn or support -more frequently the former- a particular action or a policy that is not very much in use in others that move outside or against the common march of the universe.
But for the concept to be real and not virtual, the IC itself would have to exist in itself, with sufficient strength and supported by the fact that the good of all would have to have a greater weight than the interest of each one or of a part of the whole. The stubborn reality turns out to be quite different and, therefore, this is not what is happening, at least for the time being.
The national interest always prevails over the general one, in spite of the recent, apparent but not real awareness of some problems, which -particularly those concerning the environment- seem to go beyond the framework of individual national interests.
It is enough to take a look at the real and ineffective results of the agreements reached after the various major summits on the subject (recently, in India, we have had a COP, as useless as its precedents).
On the other hand, and as the Achilles heel of the concept, we should bear in mind that the existence of a real and effective IC can only be based on the principle of equality among all actors. For there to be de facto equality, a system of international law would have to be established that would be capable of guaranteeing such rights, which, today, is far from being a palpable reality.
Therefore, and as a consequence of both major and insurmountable deficiencies, we are still far from what should happen with the effective intervention of what we have been calling IC.
The reality is that the large international organizations such as the UN and a large number of military or political alliances are massive, extremely slow, very costly and highly ineffective, so that, despite their existence on the ground, they are far from being a clear and effective reality, however much we continue to invoke their presence, action and reaction.
The precipitation and subsequent accumulation of major crises or major conflicts of an international nature -without anyone having been able to lift a finger- has been increasing in recent decades.
Wars acquire a massive and international character, where human rights are not respected, nor are the limitations on the use of certain types of weapons, which, until a few years ago, were supposed to be prohibited and no one used.
Threats or the invasion of sovereign territories are the order of the day everywhere; moreover, the most serious of these come from top world leaders who have in their hands most of the material and world war power (mainly Russia, the USA, Iran, India and China).
The world's inability to handle the pandemics that are ravaging us and will soon return on the ground has been patent and pathetic. Millions of dead and destroyed economies are the most serious result of this grave inability of the IC:
No one is surprised by the lack of respect for electoral results in all continents, either by means of self-coups of State, by force or thanks to unhealthy external alliances, not at all recommendable and until very recently totally unthinkable or dismissed by all.
The proliferation of satrap governments, oblivious to the real needs of the citizenry, who use their position to perpetuate themselves in power, doing or disposing in legislative matters whatever they want, as long as it benefits them or their partners, are not subject to the slightest reprimand by anyone internally and not even by those international organizations to which they belong, who should monitor and impose the democratic neatness of their member states.
Today almost everything can be trampled underfoot due to the unpunished outrages against the Church and all kinds of solid and legendary institutions that are constantly being mocked and mocked, thanks to a serious and constant social degradation and to the incomprehensible legal decriminalization of such acts, as it also happens with the role given to Justice, the Courts (mainly the highest ones) and the Security Forces in most countries, once endowed with reasoning and capacity to do good deeds with full discernment.
Personal and collective concern and insecurity, in the short and medium term, is on the increase, not only in the financial aspect of the well-deserved decent pensions to which every worker is entitled, but also in the degree of coverage, acquired right, cost and effectiveness that health care for active or retired citizens may have.
The climatic consequences and the great and terrible catastrophes (floods, fires, tidal waves, etc.) caused by the action or inaction of man's hand and due precisely to the drastic changes in environmental ideologies, are giving rise to a series of humanitarian crises of great importance and not precisely in underdeveloped countries and beyond distant mountains, but in Europe itself or in the USA.
The imposition of the suppression of the use of certain energies that are not entirely clean, such as coal, gas, oil or nuclear energy, and the commitment to fully rely on the so-called clean energies, is leading to moments of serious energy crisis in the so-called peaks of high consumption of these energies.
However, everyone is looking forward and no one is looking back, hoping that the problem will soon be solved by itself, especially when it has been proven that these clean energies are not enough to feed the large energy requirements to which the incessant growth of the population and the demands of modern life lead us.
The large, dangerous and desperate mass movements of people in search of political and legal security that they cannot find in their countries of origin, a roof, a decent job or a simple crust of bread, are growing exponentially from year to year, without anyone doing anything to solve the problem or provide effective assistance to the coastal countries that suffer most from this massive influx of migrants.
For decades we have been living with our heads buried in the ground, trusting in the good will and the best efforts of our leaders.
We were sold the idea that the appearance of the aforementioned international organizations would be the guarantee for the respect of our rights, the limitation to the abuses of power or the use of threats of political or military nature and, that living always under their observation and surveillance would be more than enough for nobody to get their feet out of the pot because the much-vaunted IC would have the capacity of conviction and reaction to counteract such deviations or perversions.
Nothing could be farther from the truth, the world is in a state of disarray, no one can or has the capacity to take the reins to correct the serious deviations or errors.
We are in the hands of useless leaders, or authentic satraps without a soul, who only live and legislate for their own benefits, to protect each other or to exonerate themselves from their penalties and crimes by means of shameful amnesties or resorting to stir up the ghosts of the past so that nobody moves from their chair, lest they do not appear in the photo or are left without subsidies or other types of perks.
This evil fever that has invaded and infected most of the countries of the West and totally brutalized brother countries on the other side of the Atlantic, has been the seed that has fructified in such a way that no one is capable of thinking, let alone hoping, that someone or something above our countries or governments will come to help bring order and harmony between citizens, politicians and their nefarious imposed policies.
