Dagger terrorism

Today, the polarisation created by Russia's invasion of Ukraine with Moscow's interference in Africa and the Middle East not only prevents other governments from collaborating to confront the constant threat of terrorist groups such as Daesh and al-Qaeda, mainly, but also promotes savage terrorist actions such as the 7 October attack by Hamas in Israel. Iran with its related groups in Gaza and the West Bank, in Lebanon, in Yemen, in Iraq and Syria has also mobilised certain groups in the orbit of Algerian and Syrian immigration in Europe.
The aim is always to create terror and destabilise as much as possible those Western countries that protect Arab and Muslim countries that are the real targets of terrorists. Since the serious attacks in Paris, Brussels and Barcelona, among others, several years ago and the dismantling of Daesh in Syria and Iraq, and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, the constant and unpredictable evolution of the threat has focused on the actions of young people recruited into the world of crime, with problems of identity, lack of opportunities and adaptation to the society in which they live, but with much less fanaticism. They do not blow themselves up with waistcoats full of explosives, although they are aware that they will be shot by police officers who can arrive in time at the scene of their attack. Two considerations to bear in mind, among many others. Do not demonise immigration by attributing insecurity and terrorism to it.
European governments have placed a large part of the responsibility on the EU to address a key phenomenon in the history of humanity, to tackle the movement of people with realistic, solvent and rigorous policies that regulate and organise immigration, including the obligations to be strictly adhered to by those who arrive. Furthermore, there is an increasingly clear need to recover a civic-military service for European men and women where, among other issues of education on respect for the law, institutions, political, social and religious beliefs in a multicultural society and inter-regional coexistence, instruction is given in the use of weapons, self-defence and first aid to enable citizens to be able to deal with an attack with a knife and save lives. Not forgetting another dimension such as the aggressiveness of Putin's Russia.
