Emirates, anti COVID-19 leader

Ambassadors from many countries on different continents and from a variety of political backgrounds publicly acknowledged and thanked the United Arab Emirates for its help in recent weeks in combating the disease caused by COVID-19. A pandemic that has caused more than 400,000 deaths worldwide and 7 million people infected so far. The statistics that support the work of the Emirates are more than eloquent: 710 tons of aid to more than 62 countries facilitating the work of more than 700,000 health professionals. And what is more significant about the generous attitude of the Emirates, at a time when the price of oil has plummeted since March and their income has dropped considerably, is that aid has reached people such as Iran, Iraqi Kurdistan, Cuba, Russia in Dagestan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sierra Leone, Romania, Spain in Marbella, and even China within the 62 countries that have benefited.
In a situation of such gravity, it is essential to face the pain of the present and face the future with some hope that political, economic and commercial disputes and even confrontations such as those in the waters of the Gulf, between special forces of Iran and oil tankers from the Emirates and other countries, are left aside. It is no secret that the aggressive and expansionist interests of the ayatollah regime in the Middle East clash with those of the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf monarchies that have the political and military backing of the United States. On numerous occasions, the actions of the notorious Al Quds Force of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard, whose commander in chief, Qassem Soleimani, was killed at Baghdad airport in Iraq by American drones, have caused instability and clashes from Yemen to Lebanon, from Syria to Iraq, among others.
The UAE is providing a clear leadership role in humanitarian aid and assistance to many countries in need of such health supplies to fight the pandemic and has also facilitated the repatriation of several thousand people trapped in various parts of the world. This has been combined with effective action on its own territory with 273 deaths and just over 37,000 affected. In short, at a particularly turbulent time when the temptation of every man for himself has unfortunately been common in many countries, it is imperative and rewarding to recognize that beyond the false stereotypes that place the leaders of the Emirates as the petrodollar rich who squander, we find leaders who are aware of the need to provide all possible help to others. It is not a matter of a good praise like the ones we have experienced in Spain with the workers of the health sector and the balconies, it is to show a generous attitude with the human being, which allows us to have better hopes for the future of the world, as long as the others would look at it a little and copy the good things.
