Unacceptable methods

But it should be met with the most absolute contempt and rejection because the behaviour of these Wild West cowboys is absolutely reprehensible and unacceptable from any point of view.
Meetings in the Oval Office of the White House between US presidents and their guests have always respected a minimum of courtesy in accordance with good manners and the strictest hospitality that any visitor deserves, whatever their political and social position. And if not, they should never be allowed access to such an emblematic place as the most important centre of decision and power in the world.
At least, until this moment when Donald Trump and J. D. Vance decided to ambush from behind, in the presence of all the media and broadcast live, a Volodimir Zelensky who can respond to a better or worse perception of his management at the head of a country invaded by a great military power with nuclear weapons such as Russia, but who has shown enormous courage and determination to stand up for his people.
The problem for the bullies of the class is that the underdog beggar has stood up to them and has more than embarrassed them, and, on many occasions, made them look ridiculous. Trump thinks he can attack, insult, disqualify and embarrass anyone. He applies what is known as the stupefaction strategy, used mainly in the business world and in bilateral negotiations, which consists of launching extreme and disruptive proposals to disorientate the opponent and achieve the most favourable objectives. In the geopolitical arena, this stupefaction is highly dangerous, with absurd and counterproductive results, because it is Zelensky who has emerged more favourably in terms of his reputation and the dignity and pride of the Ukrainian people.
Instead of making a couple of comments, shaking hands and then, without the media and other witnesses present, holding the meeting with the discretion required in such cases, the option chosen by Trump and Vance has been the worst possible one because they have demonstrated their only concept of politics as pure and simple business, without taking into account a whole series of fundamental principles and values that govern transatlantic relations between the democracies that make up NATO. The bullies have once again crossed the red line of strict institutional respect for former US presidents with insults. The Ukraine deal is not so trivial.
