Israel and the United Arab Emirates are at one of the best moments in their relationship. Following the signing of the Abraham Accords and as part of those signed in this pact, the two nations have been engaged in numerous projects that are increasingly relevant to the re-establishment of relations and the improvement of each other's national economies. The latest project they are engaged in is the signing of a memorandum of understanding that will allow them to promote the maritime transport sector.

This agreement aims to start promoting cooperation in this field, as well as to establish various types of partnerships. To this end, a future roadmap will be established with the mission of bringing benefits to both nations. Thanks to the agreement, the mission of the Treaty of Abraham will be fulfilled through the exchange of experience and knowledge.

The agreement was signed by Suhail bin Mohammed al-Mazoruei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Merav Michaeli, Israel's Minister of Transport and Road Safety. They were joined by the company and presence of several officials also representing both sides.

"The joint action between the UAE and the Israeli side is in line with the interest of the two countries to ensure continued economic security, stability and prosperity, and to develop and strengthen sustainable national economies," the Emirati minister commented after the signing.

In addition, Al-Mazrouei pointed out that this memorandum will be of great benefit to both parties. The minister assured that, thanks to the signing, this project aims to contribute to anticipating the future common challenges between the two countries in this economic sector. For his part, he added that they will try to create pioneering and leading initiatives to promote maritime transport.

Both sides believe that boosting bilateral relations would help establish stability and peace in the Middle East, stimulate economic growth, enhance technological innovation and establish closer relations between the peoples of the region," Al-Mazrouei continued.

The Israeli side also showed its appreciation and expressed its eagerness to start working together with the UAE in this part of the transport sector. "I am proud that relations between our two countries are taking another step forward, allowing us to cooperate more closely and in a way that serves the interests of both sides and strengthens national economies," the Israeli minister commented.

"Economic and commercial ties build and maintain political relations, and the MoU we have signed aims to strengthen shipping links between Israel and the UAE, and will allow trade to flow efficiently, quickly and at low cost," Merav continued.

The strengthening of economic and trade ties between the two sides continues to grow and has been contemplated for almost two years. On the occasion of the visit to Abu Dhabi last month of the Israeli Minister of Tourism, Yoel Razvozov, another memorandum of understanding was signed. This one focuses on the tourism sector and the agreement aims to strengthen tourism cooperation between the two areas, as well as enhance the two powers' economic relations.

"This memorandum of understanding represents an important historic step in our relations with the United Arab Emirates. We call on all countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to do the same and build together a new regional reality based on prosperity, security and stability of our peoples," Razvozov commented on his official Twitter account.

Similarly, one of the sectors where the UAE and Israel are cooperating the most is the aerospace industry. Among these agreements, the most recent one confirms that the Israeli Space Agency has created an open call with Abu Dhabi for proposals to carry out projects following the collection of data from the VENµS microsatellite.
