IBM and Minsait, an Indra company and a leader in digital consulting and business transformation, have announced the creation and launch of a generative AI Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Based on the IBM watsonx AI and data platform, this initiative aims to accelerate the development and implementation of innovative use cases that foster the transformation of Spanish organisations.

The two entities are focused on developing different use cases and pilot projects, mainly in the area of customer service, which will be carried out in internal areas of Minsait, as well as in customer environments, using IBM technology.

The main objective of these pilots is to validate the potential of generative AI to solve real problems, improve business processes, analyse the quality of services and automate support processes, aimed at boosting the digital workplace in all sectors of private and public business activity.

IBM's AI and data platform, watsonx, will be at the heart of these projects, enabling businesses to harness the power of AI to transform their operations.

IBM is helping to build enterprise, accountable and governed artificial intelligence with its watsonx platform, which stands out for being open and giving clients the flexibility to choose the AI models they want to use - trained by IBM or the open community - that best fit their use case; hybrid - allowing clients to choose the environment where they want to deploy their solutions either in the public cloud or on-premise and thereby strengthening the privacy of their data; and trusted, ensuring the principles of transparency, accountability and governance.

‘Through this Generative AI Centre of Excellence, we are demonstrating our collaboration and union with key partners such as Minsait to develop innovative solutions that drive digital transformation and generate a tangible impact on Spanish companies,’ said Raúl García, IBM Ecosystem Leader for Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel.

The creation of this Centre of Excellence in Generative AI is part of a solid collaboration between IBM and Minsait, which for years have shared a deep commitment to innovation and the transformation of the Spanish business fabric. As a precedent, IBM designed a defined training proposal for Minsait, consisting of online itineraries and face-to-face sessions, culminating in certifications and badges that enable the organisation's experts to tackle different use cases with IBM technology.

An important milestone in the creation of new projects and MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is the collaboration with IBM Client Engineering, the IBM engineering team dedicated to the co-creation of innovative solutions and pilot projects. This group of experts, supported by Minsait's process experts, brings significant value to the initiative thanks to their extensive experience, deep understanding of client needs, focus on innovation and agile methodologies.

Several use cases are currently being worked on in the field of Customer Service Centres. Thanks to the generative AI-based solution, the efficiency of the audit process has been significantly improved. An advance that has considerably reduced the time required for audits, increasing the number of calls audited and allowing calls requiring specific attention to be selected for manual review.

For Ignacio Fernández, Global Director of Financial Services at Minsait, this ambitious proposal ‘will allow us to accelerate the scaling of artificial intelligence among Spanish organisations hand in hand with such a strategic partner as IBM, which will help us to explore new horizons and commercial agreements. The resources of both, from Minsait's sector knowledge to the IBM watsonx AI and data platform itself, are a differential and transformational value proposition in the field of AI’.

The joint initiative started under an IBM cloud architecture, taking advantage of the agility and scalability provided by this environment. However, the architecture is designed to allow for a seamless migration to an on-premise environment, offering great flexibility as the joint collaboration continues to progress.

Through the development and implementation of innovative solutions based on generative AI, this joint initiative will help companies address current and future market challenges.
