The MSP highlights the United States' involvement in the search for a solution for Western Sahara

The Sahrawi Peace Movement (MSP) has welcomed the involvement of the United States in the search for a negotiated solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, which has once again been demonstrated by the tour of Massad Boulos, senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, in North Africa.
The official statement from the MSP considers this tour ‘a sign of the renewed interest of the US administration in contributing to the stability and security of a region that is strategic for global interests and, in particular, for the security of the West’.
The United States considers Morocco's proposal for autonomy for Western Sahara to be the most serious and credible option for resolving the Sahrawi dispute, thanks to the support given by the Trump administration, which is heavily involved in normalising relations in North Africa.
‘Since his previous term, President Trump has maintained that the key to peace and stability in North-West Africa lies in reconciliation between the two main regional powers, Morocco and Algeria. To this end, he considers it essential to reach a definitive solution to the Western Sahara conflict, an issue that has been sowing tension and instability in the region for more than five decades,’ as officially stated by the MSP.
The MSP has reiterated ‘its firm conviction that dialogue, negotiation and a spirit of compromise are the only path to true peace and lasting stability’ and has expressed ‘its full confidence in the proactive role of the United States’ in favour of a negotiated political solution.

The MSP welcomes the involvement of the United States in the search for a solution to the conflict in Western Sahara
The Movement Saharawi for Peace (MSP) welcomes the current tour of North Africa by Mr Massad Boulos, senior adviser to US President Donald Trump, as a sign of the US Administration's renewed interest in contributing to the stability and security of a region that is strategic for global interests and, in particular, for the security of the West.
Since his previous term in office, President Trump has maintained that the key to peace and stability in North-West Africa lies in reconciliation between the two main regional powers, Morocco and Algeria. To this end, he considers it essential to reach a definitive solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, an issue that has been sowing tension and instability in the region for more than five decades.
The MSP considers the involvement of the United States in the search for a peaceful, just and lasting solution to the conflict to be timely, as well as the role it can play as guarantor of such a solution and as a driving force for future reconstruction and development plans in the region after the resolution of the conflict.
In this context, the MSP calls on the Polisario Front to seize this historic opportunity and contribute to an honourable solution, committing to an immediate return to the ceasefire and to the peaceful path. It is time to close the chapter of war, suffering and division, and to join the dynamic to prevent the Sahrawi people and history from severely judging their past mistakes and excesses.
The Sahrawi Peace Movement reiterates its firm conviction that dialogue, negotiation and a spirit of compromise are the only path to true peace and lasting stability. It also expresses its full confidence in the proactive role of the United States in relaunching the efforts of the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Mr. Staffan de Mistura, with a view to overcoming the current impasse and moving towards a final settlement of the dispute.
