Indra has launched its advanced In-Mova Traffic platform to manage traffic on the 1.4 kilometres of the recently opened Silvertown Tunnel in London, a key infrastructure for the city’s urban mobility that connects the Greenwich Peninsula with the Silvertown district under the River Thames.

The company has successfully rolled out a complex integrated control system including intelligent transportation systems (ITS), communication systems, a radio communications network and traffic signals for Riverlinx CJV, the construction joint venture comprised of Ferrovial through its Construction division, BAM and SK Ecoplant.

Indra’s technology permits real-time monitoring of traffic and highly automated management to optimize detection and responses to incidents and emergencies. It also makes it easier to generate reports that are key to decision-making and the design of operational strategies to guarantee maximum tunnel safety, operability, and efficiency.

Indra’s solution is integrated into the traffic infrastructure and road tunnels of London managed by TfL, the entity for which the company has deployed its technology in 12 tunnels that are vital for the city’s mobility and safety, as well as the 90-plus kilometres of metropolitan roads connected to them.

In the United Kingdom Indra is also deploying its In-Mova Traffic platform in the Hindhead Tunnel for National Highways, thus reinforcing its leadership as a provider of advanced and innovative technological systems for transportation. With far-reaching experience in the undertaking of extraordinarily complex projects, the company’s technology is already contributing to smart mobility in the region and over 50 countries and cities of international relevance in the field.
