  1. Leadership in Argentina and Latin America

Indra will modernise with state-of-the-art technology the air traffic management (ATM) systems of the five control centres in Argentina, which cover the whole country.

The Argentinean Air Navigation Company (EANA) relied on Indra ManagAir's air traffic automation solution, one of the most advanced in the market at present, to homogenise all its systems with the highest security levels. This will allow the region to increase its capacity, optimise resources and move towards a more sustainable and efficient aviation.

Indra's system will integrate into a single centralised suite all the air traffic management processes that occur in the different phases of flight and will provide it with en route, approach and control tower management systems.

Indra's technology will allow the country's air traffic to be managed more smoothly thanks to the incorporation of 4D trajectory management functionalities, conflict detection and more advanced safety networks. These features allow for more precise and efficient route planning, which reduces fuel consumption and, therefore, CO2 emissions, as well as reducing flight times for passengers and improving communication between all operators of Argentinean and foreign airports.

Leadership in Argentina and Latin America

With this contract in Argentina, Indra reinforces its leadership in Latin America, where it is updating and integrating the air traffic control systems of the Central American Corporation of Air Navigation Services (COCESNA), which includes Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua. This pioneering project will strengthen Central America's single sky by creating a set of fully interconnected, integrated and homogeneous airspaces in Latin America.

Indra's air traffic management solutions have been present in Argentina for more than 30 years thanks to the implementation of advanced technologies, landing assistance systems and surveillance radar at Ezeiza international airport in Buenos Aires, the country's main terminal.

Its systems are in operation in practically all Latin American countries: it has modernised 70% of the control centres in Latin America, some 30 centres in total; it has deployed nearly fifty air traffic surveillance radars and a similar number of radio aids. In total, half a thousand air traffic systems with Indra's seal of approval support air traffic management in the subcontinent.
