The Moroccan National Office of Tourism (ONMT) has announced the signing of agreements with two American travel agencies. These agencies are Virtuoso and Signature Travel Network, which have more than 32,000 travel agents.

The aim of the agreements is to rank Morocco as a "preferred destination" from their exclusive list of possible destinations they offer. The ONMT will also be given the opportunity to promote the Moroccan tourism brand in the publications that disseminate the magazines of both agencies, as well as to participate in tourism and trade fairs.

This is one of the actions taken by the ONMT which is part of its Action Plan 2023-2026 entitled "Light in Action" as part of the international campaign "Morocco, land of light". This plan aims to promote the Kingdom's tourism image through promotional campaigns, develop a distinctive brand of Alawite tourism and promote the various tourist destinations and sectors in national and international markets.

This Action Plan will help promote Morocco's image abroad and strengthen its reputation to make Morocco a more attractive destination. The main goal of this Action Plan is to attract 17.5 million tourists, activate and generate employment, with some 200,000 jobs by 2026, and generate 11.8 billion dollars in profits.

The media outlet MoroccoWorldNews notes that "the Light in Action plan aims to position Morocco among the top 10 destinations in the world. The ONMT action plan is part of the tourism roadmap 2023-2026. The Moroccan Ministry of Tourism announced the nearly $600 million roadmap on March 17".

Morocco has attracted travellers for centuries with its colourful energy, fascinating history and dazzling combination of Arab, European and African influences. From the vibrant and bustling medinas to the breathtaking Sahara and rugged mountain ranges, the country has a remarkable impact in every area, and this is what drives international tourists to visit.

These agreements will reinforce Morocco's image as an international tourist destination.
