Emirates and USA launch campaign to stop Daesh's propaganda

Propaganda is fought with information, and this is how the Emirates and the United States are going to promote the fight against online terrorism that the Daesh practices every day. This Sunday both countries announced the creation of a joint anti-extremism campaign.
The idea is for both countries to join forces to combat online terrorist ideologies in order to promote positive alternatives. In the campaign video you can see, in a very schematic way, how terrorism absorbs people's individual choices and turns them into slaves of violence.
Deceitful use of religion, brainwashing followers by excessive exposure to violent content and false promises...

Many have been caught in the web of #DaeshLies and, willingly or forced, have sealed their sad fate.

The Sawab Centre will fight the propaganda of Daesh spread on the social networks as part of the campaign #DaeshLies from November 23-30 in Arabic, English and French.
#DaeshLies will present experiences that will highlight how terrorists exploited internet users. Former members of ISIS will discuss their experiences and how they travelled to fight for the terrorist organisation Daesh in Iraq and Syria. The aim is to discover that the group's promises of a utopia were nothing but lies.
This campaign covers all kinds of situations and stories that will be told live. The participants will range from new converts who needed guidance and were looking for answers, to disturbed people who were already leaning towards extreme views and radicalization.
"The more we understand the tactics of violent extremists, the more effectively we can protect the most vulnerable members of our society from the dangers of radicalisation," reported the Emirates' state news agency, WAM.
This is the Sawab centre's 52nd campaign and it was launched on Sunday. The speech is reportedly inspired by a series of terrorist attacks in Europe.
Established in 2015 amidst the rise of Daesh, the Sawab Centre was launched by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, and the former US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, Richard Stengel.

The centre encourages governments, communities and individual voices to engage proactively to counter online extremism and promote positive alternative narratives to the ideology of hate.
During this time, the centre has given voice to millions of people around the world who oppose extremist ideologies, while supporting efforts to expose the brutality and criminal nature of terrorist groups.

United States closes the Trump era with Pompeo's last visit to the Middle East
The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Friday for the second time in less than three months, at the start of a tour of three Persian Gulf countries following his controversial stay in Israel, where he visited a US settlement on occupied Palestinian territory.
"Looking forward to moving forward, building on the positive momentum of the Abraham Agreements and our recent Strategic Dialogue," Pompeo said on his Twitter account after landing in the Emirates capital. "We have made significant progress towards peace and security in the Middle East," added Pompeo in his message on the social network.
According to his official agenda, Pompeo met with the Crown Prince, Mohamed bin Zayed, during his visit to "discuss cooperation on security and regional affairs". During this meeting they had the opportunity to talk about the anti-terrorist campaign that was launched on Sunday.
