The summit reaffirms the UAE's desire to enhance cooperation among the world's governments and to actively participate in international efforts to address global challenges in order to build a better future for humanity, according to Emirati President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as reported by WAM, the Emirati news agency.

Emirati Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed that, due to "new challenges facing the world every day", close cooperation between governments is necessary, "fostering hope for a better tomorrow for humanity".

"The WSG is a shining example of what we can do to serve the people and create a better future for new generations," Al Maktoum said in a statement reported by the Emirati media. In this sense, the Prime Minister assured that the previous editions of this summit, which has been held for 10 years, have influenced the process of governmental work throughout the world.

During this edition, the WSG will address issues such as the acceleration of development and governance, the future of societies and health, the exploration of borders, the governance of economic resilience and connectivity, the design and sustainability of global cities, and the prioritisation of learning and work.

On the sidelines of the WSG, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has met with a number of world leaders in Dubai, including Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait; Maeen Abdul Malik, Prime Minister of Yemen; Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan; Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Seychelles; Mario Abdo Benitez, President of Paraguay; and Kristalina Gueorguieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

During the meetings with the various heads of state and leaders of world organisations, the Emirati president discussed cooperation ties between the Emirates and the countries and associations concerned. In particular, the Emirati Sheikh focused on economic and development issues, as well as other key areas for the country, such as sustainability.

Among the bilateral meetings, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also met with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Guest of Honour at this year's WSG. The two leaders discussed "fraternal bilateral ties and aspects of cooperation and joint action and ways to promote them", as reported in El Correo del Golfo.
