Joe Biden withdraws from the presidential race

Joe Biden has announced in a letter addressed to the American citizens that he is withdrawing and will not be the candidate of the Democratic Party in the next presidential elections in November.
Although Biden had won the electoral support in the primaries of his party, he renounces to be a candidate a few days before the celebration in Chicago of the Convention of his party that now will have to decide who will compete with the Republican Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States. Biden in a message through the social network X has proposed his current vice president, Kamala Harris, as his replacement to be the Democratic candidate.
Joe Biden has suffered multiple pressures from all political and economic strata to step aside due to the obvious health problems that he has shown publicly in recent weeks and that had its culmination during the first election debate with his adversary Donald Trump held on CNN and that had a new episode during the NATO summit in Washington when he confused the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, with Russian President Putin and Vice President Kamala Harris herself with Trump.
Donald Trump has congratulated himself for Joe Biden's decision to withdraw and has assured that it will be easier for him to win over Kamala Harris if she is chosen as the candidate. In his usual aggressive and disrespectful line, Trump has assured that Biden never had the ideal profile to be president.

In his letter of resignation as Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe Biden assures that, during the three and a half years of his term as president, there has been great progress for the nation. "Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We have made historic investments to rebuild our nation..."
He makes a quick review of the accomplishments of his presidency in the institutions, assures that he could not have done it without the support of the American people, that we have protected and preserved American democracy and revitalized and strengthened alliances in the world.
The greatest honor of his life has been to serve as president and that his intention was to seek re-election, but “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and my country that I withdraw my candidacy and devote all my efforts to my duties as president for the remainder of my term.”
He announces that he will address the nation in the coming days and thanks the support of his entire team who have worked very hard and highlighted the role played by Kamala Harris.
He ends the letter with a message of unity for Americans, emphasizing what he believes and has always believed: “there is nothing that America cannot do when we all do it together. “We have to remember that we are the United States of America.”
