Morocco invests millions of dirhams to strengthen security at three airports

With the aim of strengthening security at Moroccan airports, the National Airport Office (ONDA) awarded the Unisystem/Ultranet Multimédia consortium a contract of more than 40 million dirhams to modernize and reinforce video surveillance, access control and security systems perimeter of the Ibn Batouta airport in Tangier.
According to official documents consulted by Maghreb-Intelligence, Alomra Group International will also receive 62 million dirhams to modernize and strengthen the video surveillance, access control and perimeter security systems at Angad airport in Oujda.
On the other hand, the third and final contract has been awarded to the DDM/Melinet consortium to update and fortify the video surveillance, access control and perimeter security systems of the Fez-Saïs airport. This contract will cost ONDA more than 35 million dirhams, the Moroccan portal.
In addition to increasing security, Morocco aims to expand and modernize its airports. In this sense, earlier this month, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil, announced in Rabat that the Kingdom will work on the expansion and renovation of several airports to reach a capacity of 80 million passengers in 2035, compared to the 40 million current.

This measure, as well as those related to increased security, is closely related to Morocco's preparations for the organization of the 2030 World Cup, which it will host together with Spain and Portugal.
