Ukrainian Chancellor Dmytro Kuleba, one of his country's key voices since the start of the war triggered by the Russian invasion, has resigned from parliament in the midst of a government reshuffle, the speaker announced.

‘I ask you to accept my resignation,’ Kuleba wrote in a letter to parliament and posted on social media by the speaker, Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The speaker said the chamber will vote quickly on the resignation request.

Earlier in the day, several ministers, including justice, industry and environment ministers, also resigned as part of a government reshuffle, two and a half years after the start of the Russian invasion.

Kuleba, 43, has been Foreign Minister since 2020, and is the most high-profile figure to resign.

Since the start of the Russian offensive in February 2022, he has travelled much of the world to call for diplomatic and military support for his country, and sanctions against Moscow.
