Youssef Temsamani, candidato del Partido Popular a la Alcaldía de Balsareny

At the beginning of March, the news broke out that the Popular Party of Barcelona has opted for a list headed by the Moroccan journalist Youssef Temsamani to win the mayoralty of the town of Balsareny.

Temsamani is a 43-year-old journalist, married and father of a daughter. He holds a degree in Spanish Language and Literature and a diploma in Communication. He has held several financial positions in banking institutions and is currently a correspondent and talk show host on several national and international channels such as the BBC, EDAtv, and other channels in the Arab world.

Temsamani bases his campaign on the economic issue, considering that the current municipal government has failed to take advantage of the great opportunities offered by the small town in the Catalan region of Bages. It is a town with some 2,700 voters, where the pro-independence movement has been at home in recent elections in the absence of a solid constitutionalist candidacy.

The Popular Party is optimistic about this candidacy, although it does not deny the difficulty of this challenge, as it must include the constitutionalist vote in order to be eligible for the mayor's office.

Temsamani, for his part, says that his candidacy is not so much based on acronyms as on a solid project for all the inhabitants of Balsareny, whatever their political ideology, and that his priority is to create jobs for the more than 410 unemployed people in the town.
