2 million people have died in the world because of COVID-19

The World Health Organization (WHO) today reported 14,718 deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours globally, bringing the number of reported deaths to 2,001,773, one year after the outbreak of the coronavirus which at that time was still confined to China.
The number of deaths counted today is nearly a thousand less than the day before, yet it is among the highest since the pandemic began.
Again, the positive cases were about 700,000, bringing the total number of global cases to 92,506,811 million.
Nearly one-fifth of all deaths in the global pandemic have occurred in the United States, which has more than 385,000, and 23.1 million infected.
In terms of mortality, Brazil is the second most affected country by covid-19, with 208,000 deaths attributed to this infectious disease that affects the respiratory system, but can also cause complications in other organs.
In the South American country 8.3 million cases have been registered, and these days it is the second one where contagion is increasing at a faster rate, with more than 67,000 new cases registered in only 24 hours.
With more than 55,000 cases reported daily, the United Kingdom is the third country where the infection curve is steepest, but the second if deaths per day are counted (1,280).
