"De cara al mundo": international analysis on Onda Madrid
"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, deals with the most relevant international current affairs every Friday.
The ongoing protests in Iran against the regime of the ayatollahs and its harsh repression, which has already left more than 200 dead, will be one of the main topics of the radio programme. Nilúfar Saberi, an Iranian refugee in Spain since the age of 14 and an activist for human rights in Iran, will shed light on what is happening in the Islamic Republic.
The complicated judicial situation of Peru's President Pedro Castillo, following the prosecution's accusation against him, will also have its place in the microphones of "De cara al mundo". Aldo Mariátegui, Peruvian journalist, will talk about the outlook for the Peruvian leader.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine will once again take centre stage in the programme. Russia expands terror on Ukrainian territory against civilians in response to the attack on the Kerch bridge in Crimea. 20 cities, including the capital Kiev, suffered a massive Russian offensive and, according to Forbes, the military operation has cost Vladimir Putin between 400 and 700 million euros. Daryna Hoch, a Ukrainian resident in Kiev, and Maria Senovilla, special envoy to Ukraine, will give details of the situation on the ground in the Ukrainian country.
The Sharjah Film Festival will also have its place in "De cara al mundo" with the testimony of Álvaro Escalonilla, Atalayar's special envoy for the cultural event in the United Arab Emirates.
As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. The protests in Iran against the Ayatollahs' regime, Russian military reprisals in Ukraine, the economic and energy crisis in Europe as a result of the war on Ukrainian territory and the complicated situation of the president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, following the indictment by the Public Prosecutor's Office will be discussed.
