Dubai, one of Time magazine's top places in the world in 2021

Dubai has been named one of the world's best places in 2021 by Time magazine, the Dubai Media Bureau tweeted. The emirate features on the coveted list as it prepares to host Expo 2020 from October. The city's other hotly anticipated attractions are the Museum of the Future and the Dubai Eye Ferris wheel. "After a year's delay due to the pandemic, Expo 2020 Dubai, a six-month multi-million dollar trade fair expected to attract 25 million visitors, will make its long-awaited debut in Dubai this October. Nearly 200 pavilions created by countries from around the world will showcase their respective cultures and achievements. Italy's exhibit, for example, will feature a 3D-printed replica of Michelangelo's David, and Singapore will emphasise its commitment to sustainability with lush indoor hanging gardens," Time noted.
Dubai is preparing to host the largest mass event ever held in an exceptional time. The vast Expo 2020 grounds are weeks away from completion as the country continues to prepare to open its doors to the world. The event is highly symbolic as it is the first international expo to be held in a Middle Eastern country and the first global event to be held in a pandemic. Thus, Dubai stands as a city of tomorrow, a dawn that promises to bring a hopeful future. In this way, through the Expo, Dubai will lay out the roadmap to lay the economic and cultural foundations that will set the path for the post-pandemic era. Under the theme "connecting minds and creating the future", the Expo stands as a unifying place to house humanity.
From the outside, the Expo buildings begin to stand out against a desert terrain. Through futuristic designs, the area begins to house imposing architectural constructions. Glass and steel star in an architectural sequence that seeks to transport visitors to the world of tomorrow, a new future that seems ever closer. Guests will be able to admire this space through three six-storey high carbon fibre walkways that link the different spaces together.
The magazine also referred to the "supernatural" Museum of the Future, "an exhibition space housed inside a steel ring-shaped building resplendent with Arabic calligraphy, nearing completion". "Thrill-seekers will love Ain Dubai, the world's tallest Ferris wheel, and the new John Wick rollercoaster at the Hollywood-inspired Motiongate Dubai theme park. New luxury hotels such as SLS Dubai, which features infinity pools at the top of the 75-storey tower, and St. Regis Dubai, The Palm, connected from the man-made island on which it sits to the city's attractions via its own monorail station, provide a respite and the 795-room Atlantis, The Royal will open later this year, with restaurants by celebrity chefs Ariana Bundy and José Andrés," the magazine added.
