Moroccan company SEPSI will lead security at the Hassan II Stadium for the 2030 World Cup

Morocco has taken another giant step forward in the preparations for the World Cup, which it is co-organising with Spain and Portugal, after the Moroccan company SEPSI was awarded a key contract to guarantee security at the new Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca, located in the Benslimane region. The importance of the award lies in the high chances of the new venue hosting the World Cup final.

This project, which is still under construction, is expected to have a capacity of over 115,000, making it one of the world's largest football stadiums.
The scale of the project poses major challenges for the Moroccan company, especially in terms of fire protection and evacuation, two aspects that FIFA and CAF consider essential for granting permits to sports venues. However, this will not present major problems for SEPSI due to its long experience, especially in safety engineering.

However, the selection process was really complicated, as many companies were vying for this contract. In the first call for tenders, the National Public Equipment Agency, the body responsible for supervising the project, did not find a candidate that met the necessary requirements. This led to a review of the tendering process, after which SEPSI emerged as the final choice, winning the contract worth 590,000 dollars.
The awarding of SEPSI as the company in charge of security is an example of the trust that the Moroccan authorities have in local companies. In addition to security, this agreement shows that Morocco is fully committed to Artificial Intelligence, as SEPSI is a pioneer in this field. Currently, the use of Artificial Intelligence is already transforming the design of sports venues, and the Hassan II Stadium project is no exception.

One of the main uses of AI in the development of sports projects is the implementation of tools that allow the simulation of drills that optimise security systems to the maximum, from the simplest, such as the location of fire extinguishers, to changes that may affect the internal structure of the stadium, such as emergency exits or the possibility of creating emergency medical centres.
This contract awarded to the company SEPSI will mark a turning point and will become the mirror in which many sports federations and institutions will look at themselves with a view to modernising or building new, safer sports venues.
