Summary of the Iranian uprising: day 180

The Iranian national uprising entered its 180th day on Tuesday, marking the seventh month of unceasing protests against the regime by ordinary citizens demanding their rights and wanting to live in freedom and democracy.
Last night, people took to the streets in the capital, Tehran, as well as in many cities across the country, in a new wave of anti-regime protests. These demonstrations were followed by others today as the Iranian nation celebrated the annual fire festival ahead of Nowrouz, the Iranian New Year, on 20 March.
Overnight anti-regime protests erupted again late in the evening and continued into the early hours of Tuesday, as demonstrators took to the streets of Tehran and many other cities across the country, marching and chanting slogans against the mullahs' dictatorship. These demonstrations were recorded in the capital and in the cities of Mashhad, Karaj, Sanandaj, Babol, Saveh, Malayer, Amol, Kamyaran, Qazvin, Yazd, Mahabad, etc.
Residents in different parts of Tehran and other cities of the country celebrated the annual "fire festival" by taking to the streets and holding anti-regime demonstrations. These rallies took place in Tehran, Tabriz, Karaj, Isfahan, Zahedan, Baneh, Qom, Divandarreh, Mahabad, Sanandaj, Zanjan, Piranshahr, Saqqez, Rasht, Javanrud, Naqadeh, Kermanshah, Kamyaran, Shahre Rey, Abdanan, Izeh and others.
Authorities in the cities of Mahabad, Saqqez and across Tehran province sent security forces onto the streets and called for reinforcements to prevent the anti-regime protests from escalating into major unrest.
In the city of Piranshahr in northwestern Iran, residents held protest rallies despite the authorities sending large numbers of security forces onto the streets and militarising their districts to prevent people from celebrating the annual fire festival.
In Zanjan, northwestern Iran, protesters burned a regime-built memorial to former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani. In Karaj, protesters attacked a shop belonging to the IRGC, demonstrating once again the Iranian population's hatred of the regime and its repressive security apparatus.
Meanwhile, workers at a steel factory in Ahvaz, capital of the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan, began a demonstration today to protest the refusal of company officials to meet their long-standing demands.
Owners of several vehicles and trucks at the fruit and vegetable distribution market in the city of Shiraz, in south-central Iran, are on strike to protest against the recent hike in vehicle fares.
Seasonal workers at the Haft Tappeh sugar cane company near the city of Shush in the south-western Iranian province of Khuzestan are continuing their strike and protests as company officials continue to ignore their demands.
