CaixaForum Madrid brings to the public the art of Belén Barenys, Berta Prieto, Soledad Vélez and Little

The "la Caixa" Foundation presents a new edition of the consolidated cultural cycle "Encounters with..." at CaixaForum Madrid, a unique space where the public can interact directly with influential creators on the current art scene. Characterised by giving rise to informal dialogues that reveal the creative process and the evolution of relevant artists, this new programme will bring audiovisual creation, music and the latest art closer together.
This is a unique opportunity to delve into the stories behind cultural projects that are redefining the contemporary scene and that can be inspiring for the audience.
On 22 February, two transgressive voices will kick off the cycle: Belén Barenys and Berta Prieto. Both are the creators and protagonists of the authorial series "Autodefensa, un retrato generacional" (Self-defence, a generational portrait), which achieved great notoriety after its premiere on Filmin. In fact, the launch of its trailer received a flood of comments from both detractors and fans of this choral tale. In this meeting, the actresses, who will reveal the keys to their artistic inspiration, will explain how they lived the story that changed their lives and what other projects they have in hand.

Music will be the protagonist of the second dialogue of the cycle on 21 March, with the Chilean artist Soledad Vélez. Known for her eclectic musical style that fuses elements of indie folk, pop, rock and electronic music, Vélez has released several albums since she began her career in 2010. Her music has also been the soundtrack to hit series such as "Veneno", "Élite" and "Las últimas de la fila". At this event, the artist whose voice has enchanted audiences both on the music scene and on television, will share those aspects of her work that are unknown to the public.
Pablo J. Rodríguez, aka Little, one of the illustrators who is triumphing among millennials, will star in the last session of "Encounters with..." on 18 April. Attendees will be able to get a closer look at the secrets of this interesting self-taught artist, whose style - marked by drawings with a childlike air and simple lines in which black ink predominates - is easily recognisable in his work. His illustrations are born from the artist's interest in understanding and assimilating the world around him and deal with relevant themes such as love and heartbreak, farewells and reunions. His graphic vision of the world has led him to collaborate with media such as El Mundo, El Español, Harper's Bazaar, L'Officiel, Neo2 and Notes, among others.

A space for dialogue and discovery
The cycle "Encounters with..." of the "la Caixa" Foundation are more than cultural events; they are spaces for learning and inspiration. Each dialogue stands out for bringing to the public the most innovative and avant-garde artistic expressions of the moment, aimed at an audience in search of stimulating experiences. After the recognition obtained in previous editions, the cycle returns to give voice to a new generation of artists who are transforming the cultural scene. With the help of important figures such as Belén Barenys, Berta Prieto, Soledad Vélez and Little, the cultural centre's programme offers a fresh and at the same time profound perspective of the most current culture.
