The "la Caixa" Foundation presents at CaixaForum Madrid the special programme it has selected for the Christmas holidays. Coinciding with the school holidays, the cultural centre has prepared a wide range of activities for the whole family, including a performing arts show, special screenings for children aged 3 and over and guided tours to show the most emblematic exhibitions.

Theatre and cinema for the whole family

The special Christmas programme includes Barrocomatik, a wordless theatre show that combines gestural theatre, clowning, puppetry and visual poetry to offer visitors a journey through Baroque music. The bassoon, oboe, theorbo and violin will enter the stage to tell the story of a character who has created a universe of automatons to hide his emotions.

The cultural centre will also host special screenings as part of the Little Moviegoers series on 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 December and 31 December. Children and their families will be able to enjoy the session The snail and the whale and other tales of the sea, which brings together various audiovisual adventures whose common link is the sea and characters who face unique situations.

The session Lost and Found will also be screened, which tells a magical tale about friendship and loneliness, and the importance of having someone to look after us. Both sessions include different short films and are part of the cycle that this year has been dedicated to animated films that have a close relationship with popular British literature of the 20th century.

Visits to the most successful exhibitions

From 17 December to 8 January families can enjoy guided tours of one of CaixaForum Madrid's emblematic exhibitions, Expanded Visions. Photography and experimentation. Likewise, it will be possible to visit the exhibition that reviews the evolution of technology in Nikola Tesla, the genius of modern electricity.

With this programme, which characterises CaixaForum Madrid as a cultural centre, the "la Caixa" Foundation aims to ensure that children and their families can enjoy quality shows while making the most of the Christmas school holidays.
