The Gulf Cooperation Council's largest digital art gallery is coming to the UAE

Virtual art exhibitions are the order of the day, with specialised galleries and centres based only on this type of exhibition of works. In this scenario, the largest digital art gallery of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) arrives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In partnership with InfinityArt and Culturespaces Digital, the Infinity des Lumières will be located at the foot of the famous Burj Khalifa, on the second floor of the Dubai Mall, which is visited by 80 million people per year, making it a strategic location.
The 2,700 square meter space will boast 130 video projectors, 58 speakers and 3,000 HD digital moving images. On its two floors, the digital art center will host several immersive digital exhibitions devoted to classical, modern, and contemporary artists.
Inspired by the Atelier des Lumières in Paris (11th district), a digital art centre set up in a renovated 19th century foundry. It has immersive digital exhibitions, which pay homage to great names in the history of art and are projected on the floor and on walls over 10 metres high in the hall of the Atelier.
The digital art center will cut the proverbial ribbon with an inaugural immersive exhibition devoted to renowned Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. The exhibition will run simultaneously with “Dreamed Japan,” an immersive journey into Japanese art and Thomas Vanz’s sound installation “Verse.”
This exhibition by Van Gogh has been shown in European countries, from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to the Spanish capital in the Círculo de Bellas Artes. It has crossed the pond to North America and will now reach Asia.
In this way, works that have been limited to just a few lucky ones can be brought to the world. An experience that immerses you in the painting and makes you part of it, enjoying an image quality that gives you more sensations than a simple photograph on a mobile phone.
Catherine Oriol, Director of Infinity des Lumières, explained in a statement, “Visitors will have infinite possibilities to be at the centre of art, fully immersed and connected to it. The inspiring exhibitions speak universally to different audiences, of all ages and cultural backgrounds.”
Further announcements, including information on launch dates, ticket prices, and the 2021 exhibition program, will be revealed early this year.
