The Three Cultures Foundation travels to Cartaya to celebrate Library Day

Once again this year, the Three Cultures Foundation is joining in the celebration of Library Day, on 24 October, with various activities coordinated through its fabulous Fátima Mernissi library. Under the slogan ‘For a sustainable future’, proposed by the Ministry of Culture, it highlights the key role played by libraries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Between 17 and 30 October, the Three Cultures Foundation has prepared a special programme with activities that promote reading and sustainability, including the presentation of the illustrated album Con los brazos abiertos (Kalandraka) and two activities specially designed for the training of library staff, with the aim of providing them with key tools to face the challenges facing libraries in the 21st century.
Thursday, 17 October, at 19.00 h.
Presentation and storytelling in Cartaya
The presentation of the illustrated album Con los brazos abiertos (Kalandraka) by the author Antonio Rubio, with illustrations by María Girón, on 17 October at 6 p.m., in collaboration with the Cartaya Municipal Public Library. A work that teaches us that diversity, family and friendship have no colour.
The event will include a reading by the Moroccan storyteller Mohammed Hammu and will be accompanied by music and a digital exhibition of the illustrations of the work. At the end, the audience will be able to participate with the librarians in an origami activity in which they will create paper birds as a symbol of freedom and the absence of borders, which they will be able to take home as a souvenir of the day.
Free entry until full capacity is reached. Aimed at families.
