As reported by OPEC on its official Twitter account, ADNOC has played a key leadership role in "decarbonizing its oil and gas operations."

The satellite channel "Sky News" reported on its website that "OPEC's praise came in response to the launch by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office and chairman of the Executive Committee of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC)."

This will enable Emirates Water and Electricity Company to supply ADNOC with electricity from clean nuclear and solar energy sources.

In January 2022, emission power operations will be launched, highlighting ADNOC as one of the world's lowest-carbon oil and gas producers, leading to a more sustainable growth.

This partnership between ADNOC and Emirates Water and Electricity Company provides the latter with a large consumer of energy from clean sources such as nuclear and solar power.

It supports their intention to invest in some innovations to reduce carbon emissions in the sector.

This partnership is at the vanguard of, and in sync with, the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) proposals to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is one of the world's leading energy producers and a major catalyst for the growth and diversification of Abu Dhabi's economy. With a production capacity of more than 3.5 million barrels of oil per day and 10.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, it operates across the entire hydrocarbon value chain. The company has a network of fully integrated businesses for exploration, production, storage, refining and marketing, as well as the development of a wide range of petrochemical products.

Founded in 1971, ADNOC has been responsible for harnessing the UAE's energy resources to meet the demands of an ever-changing energy market.
