Indra Group presents the growth plan for the Autonomous Community to the Regional Government of Andalusia

Ángel Escribano, executive president of the Indra Group, and José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of the Indra Group, met at the company's headquarters in Madrid with Jorge Paradela, Regional Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Regional Government of Andalusia, to explain the growth plan in the Autonomous Community, to be implemented from the second half of this year and which will focus on production and engineering capabilities.
The Indra Group's commitment to Andalusia has been very strong for decades. With a structuring capacity at the regional level due to its presence in all the provinces, the company has seven main centres, an innovation laboratory and two project offices. The workforce numbers more than 3,700 people, distributed among all the work centres and whose activity is concentrated in the defence, space and advanced digital technologies sectors.
From its centres in Andalusia, Indra Group collaborates closely with the industry of that Autonomous Community and participates in the development of numerous projects and solutions at a regional, national and international level, focused on the areas of defence and security, space, AI, cybersecurity, transport and air traffic, industry 4.0 and the digitalisation of both public and private companies.
Defence and space
In the field of defence, the Indra Group has, among other things, professionals deployed at the Morón de la Frontera airbase (Seville), for the commissioning and support of the Eurofighter teams of the Spanish Air Force and Space Force.
Specifically, this base houses a space surveillance radar supplied by the Indra Group. This radar is one of the few of its kind in operation in the world and the only one of this level in Europe. It is a key part of the European space surveillance system, channelled through the EUSST consortium and EUSPA (European Space Agency), which has played an important role in various space events in recent years, such as the recent crossing of an unidentified object over the Iberian Peninsula.
Space is a sector in which the Indra Group is the undisputed leader, as is also demonstrated by the close collaboration between the Indra Group and the Spanish Space Agency (AEE), whose headquarters are in Seville. Also noteworthy is the recent agreement between the Indra Group and the University of Seville to create the ‘Space Surveillance’ Chair, which aims to jointly develop R&D&I activities and promote teaching activities and interdisciplinary research linked to the space sector.
Thanks to this chair, academic work, final degree projects and doctoral theses linked to the development of new space technologies that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) or big data, among others, will be promoted, as well as opportunities for collaboration with the Spanish Space Agency (AEE).
On the other hand, through the centre located in Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz), Indra Group provides fundamental support to the Navy in the area of advanced naval systems. In this sense, the IRST i110 (Infrared Search and Track) detection and tracking system, which uses infrared sensors to locate and follow targets at long distances, installed in the frigate A110, stands out.
Expansion of the Indra Group in Andalusia
It is worth noting that the Indra Group is expanding its activities in the region of Andalusia with the acquisition of companies such as Deuser, based in Córdoba and specialising in industrial digitalisation, and Clue, based in Málaga and dedicated to aerospace technology.
The Indra Group has positioned itself as a technological partner of the Regional Government of Andalusia through the Andalusian Digitalisation Agency (ADA), which is responsible for defining and implementing the region's digital strategy, and the Andalusian Society for the Development of Telecommunications (SANDETEL), through which it develops transformation projects across the entire region.
