Morocco and the United States are finalising a historic agreement with Boeing that will transform the Kingdom's aeronautical industry

Morocco and the United States are preparing to seal an unprecedented agreement in the aeronautical sector that could redefine bilateral relations and position the Kingdom as a strategic hub in the global industry. According to Bloomberg, King Mohammed VI and US President Donald Trump are finalising the details of a major contract with the manufacturer Boeing.
The eagerly awaited bilateral meeting, for which no date or venue has yet been confirmed, would mark a milestone in cooperation between Rabat and Washington. At the heart of the negotiations is the acquisition by Royal Air Maroc (RAM) of 70 aircraft: 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, ideal for long-haul flights, and 50 Boeing 737s, widely used on short- and medium-haul routes.
In addition, the contract would include an industrial component that could transform the Moroccan aeronautical landscape. The possibility of establishing maintenance, assembly or parts manufacturing centres in the country is being considered, a measure that would generate jobs, increase technology transfer and consolidate Morocco's position as a relevant player in the regional aeronautical supply chain.
This approach represents a crucial opportunity to boost the Moroccan industrial ecosystem, attracting foreign direct investment and strengthening local capabilities in a high-tech sector.
RAM's ambitious plan is not limited to the US manufacturer. According to the same sources, the national airline is also considering the addition of 20 Airbus A220s, a move that demonstrates its willingness to diversify suppliers and modernise its fleet with a long-term vision.
This strategy will also enable RAM to expand its international route network and improve its competitiveness in the African, European and American markets.

Beyond the purchase of aircraft, the agreement with Boeing reflects the strength of the strategic relationship between Morocco and the United States. The inclusion of an industrial development component opens the door to future collaborations in the technological, educational and economic fields.
The official announcement could take place at the upcoming Paris Air Show, one of the most important events in the global aviation industry, which would reinforce the global impact of the agreement.
If confirmed, this contract would mark a turning point for Moroccan aviation, boosting its economy, raising its international profile and consolidating its role as a bridge between Africa, Europe and America.
