Morocco, one of Safran's global industrial strongholds

After signing a framework agreement with the Safran group, the Moroccan State is concretising its shared commitment with the French multinational company to support and develop the aeronautical industrial ecosystem in Morocco.
The agreement aims to establish a quality local supply chain by identifying and accompanying the development of the production capacities of Safran's service providers and suppliers, and to develop high value-added activities by consolidating research, technology and new engineering services.
"Morocco is a strategic country for our activities and participates in our industrial efficiency," said Olivier Andriès, Safran CEO; revealing that Morocco has become one of Safran's strong industrial platforms worldwide. "Developing the local aeronautical ecosystem" is the primary objective of the agreement signed between Morocco and Safran, according to the same statement.
Safran is also working to train the Moroccan workforce in the aeronautical sector in order to be able to carry out the entire aircraft engine manufacturing process, for example, and the fixing and correct positioning of parts with the help of the green laser, as well as the handling of complex and strategic equipment.

Indeed, local expertise is necessary for Safran, both in the production of parts and in quality control, which is carried out by a large automated gantry and an assembly line borrowed from the automotive industry.
Safran's factory, located near Casablanca airport on a surface area of 36,000 m², is equipped with robots and automated systems that dominate its production and control lines. The Safran aeronautics group's factories in Morocco are not only on a par with their European counterparts, but are also a decisive element in the group's competitiveness.
Safran has been present in Morocco for 24 years and employs more than 4,200 people in 8 units or joint ventures. Safran is therefore positioned as a leader in the aeronautical sector in the North African country and maintains strong partnerships with industrialists in the sector, governmental institutions and training centres.
Thanks to this strategic and fruitful partnership for both parties, Safran qualifies the Moroccan factories as key players at the heart of its global production system.
