Possible gas-fired power conversion project in Morocco

According to MoroccoWorldNews, Predator Oil & Gas Holdings PLC CEO Paul Griffiths has announced the possibility of the opening of a new "gas to power" project.
Griffiths describes the gas extraction activities as "intense" and "fast-paced". The Jersey-based UK company operates primarily in Morocco and holds four Exploration Permits covering an area of 7,269 km² within its Guercif Licence (located in the province of Guercif).
Two probable gas reservoirs have been detected in the MOU-3 well after drilling to a depth of 350 metres, MoroccoWorldNews reports.
Following the positive drilling development of the MOU-3 well, Predator announced the commencement of drilling operations on the MOU-4 well in June. In November 2022 it announced the completion of activities on the MOU-2 well.
This new project will produce Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), a type of natural gas that is stored at high pressures. This type of gas is considered a sustainable alternative for the substitution of liquid fuels due to its economical and environmentally sustainable production.
The British company, founded in 2017, holds an 8-year licence in Morocco in which the shares are divided between 75% for the company Predator Gas Ventures Ltd (a subsidiary of Predator), the operator of this project, and 25% for the state-owned oil company ONHYM. The main reservoir in which these drilling activities are being carried out is located offshore Morocco, in the Moulouya Fan reservoir.

Predator already has experience in developing this type of project in other countries such as Ireland and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, where it has partnered with local companies and institutions.
Morocco is also home to gas exploitation by companies such as SDX Energy to the west (in Gharb) or Sound Energy (Tendrara).
Griffiths believes that Predator's "gas to energy" project can make a substantial contribution to Morocco's energy transition and to the economic and environmentally sustainable development of the North African country.
Morocco is committed to the production and consumption of clean energy of national origin and not to depend on external issues such as the rise in energy prices resulting from the Ukrainian crisis.
