The reactivation of the airport will make Beni Mellal a tourist destination of excellence

After a long interruption of its services due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Beni Mellal international airport has reopened its doors, reviving the dynamism of tourism in the region.
The revival of air traffic at Beni Mellal airport is the result of an agreement signed with the airline Ryanair, which links Beni Mellal airport with Milan twice a week and with Girona three times a week.

Beni Mellal international airport officials underlined that, thanks to the major efforts of the various regional players, the doors of the airport have been reopened in order to respond to the strong demand for traffic from Moroccans living abroad and to make the city a tourist destination of excellence.
At the same time, the national airports office undertook to renovate and improve the airport's facilities to ensure passenger comfort; it also prioritised the adaptation of its infrastructures to the international standards approved for aviation control, air safety, airport security and the quality of services.
With an air terminal covering an area of 1,500 m2, Beni Mellal international airport is equipped with a VOR radio positioning system, a DME distance measurement system and high-intensity night-time signalling. This equipment makes it possible to guide aircraft en route and to take off and land them at night.
The geographical position of Beni Mellal airport also favours the exercise of certain aeronautical sports activities such as gliding, parachuting, private aviation and the movements of the aeroclubs of the Moroccan kingdom.
