AFP/LUDOVIC MARIN - Pedro Sánchez

Although it seems impossible that a new debacle could happen under any circumstances, it has happened. Sánchez is, once again, on the verge of being proclaimed president of the Government of Spain, despite all that has been said and done by the character, his mariachis and the chorus of slimy palmeros, who live off the profits and perks derived from his mandate, from his connections and submerged in a convulsive, pathetic and worrying ignorance or in a stinking conformism or simply, in a letting anything go, facts that scare even the least painted.

For those of us who were born, grew up and were educated in a misnamed and always reviled dictatorship; for those of us who, when we were very young, welcomed with great joy and even more hope the arrival of a flourishing democracy based on the "pillars" of what we firmly believed in and called, with all pomp and utmost respect, the Magna Carta - by the way, drawn up by a bunch of cronies, all of them in cahoots so as not to offend the sensibilities or tread on the bleeding corns of communists, separatists and all kinds of low-life specimens, whose goal has only one clear and strong common objective, destroying Spain - and of course, for those of us who have burned our considerable personal and collective efforts in the irrecoverable productive years, we neither understand nor accept the situation of disorder, chaos and nonsense achieved by the current leaders and by many of the inhabitants of a truly invertebrate, worn-out and outdated territory, which is nothing like the former axis and light of the world, cradle of cultures, sciences and art and owner of a great language of universal projection.

It is not because some of us, albeit few political analysts, have not been announcing our fears and concerns that this could happen again and even degenerate even further. A situation that was predicted because of the great capacity for real resilience of a perilla who has been demonstrating for years that as long as he has a feather hanging from his scalp, he cannot be considered plucked and it is unthinkable that, in such a situation, he would be considered dead or out of action. A man who resists because of his wiles, his scheming and his tremendous and infamous lies (now called, by himself, changes of opinion); but not because of his brilliance or his success in doing things and, much less, in managing the economy of a country that he has plunged into a debt and a deficit unparalleled throughout history; someone who never appears guilty in his own eyes and tries to hide it from the eyes of others; who is always looking for scapegoats to take the blame and then sacrifice them in the public square if necessary; who lacks scruples and dignity and whose narcissism, egocentrism and dictatorial character means that he always acts on his own, bypassing the minimum canons and precepts necessary in a democracy; who says one thing and the opposite in the same conference, speech or interview without batting an eyelid; who lies repeatedly and shamelessly, while accusing his political opponents of doing so, without moving a single muscle on his face.

A fop with deep felonious roots, who is capable of allying himself with each and every one of Spain's greatest enemies - and even with the devil himself, if necessary - in order to keep his ass firmly ensconced in a seat that has never really, though legally, corresponded to him.

And to top it all off, he is a character who struts around the world as if he were capable of solving all major international problems, as if he were ahead of his time; in short, a visionary who is always right and who, no doubt, interprets and is convinced that the rest of the leaders around him will sooner or later end up copying his magic potions and recipes.

But he is not alone in this task, he knows perfectly well the baseness, needs and expensive whims of the separatists, terrorists and the poor in spirit and fickle regionalists whom he turns into cranks and ironclad allies to anything that shows them or offers a mortification of millions for free total, tremendous debt forgiveness or incredible concessions in the use and demand of languages, commuter trains or the control of road traffic; or other non-minor issues such as the expulsion of the Civil Guard from certain territories and functions - expulsion, carried out at night, treacherously and plagued by humiliations - or the dark and filthy spectacle of the transfers of legal competences, including the control of prisoners to whom, previously, it has changed its location to facilitate the work and, finally, as the icing on a stinking cake, the priceless work of propaganda and theft of seats that VOX provides throughout the electoral processes, both in its previous phases and in the middle of the campaign, appears.

For years now, political analysts, opinion pollsters and distinguished journalists have been saying that VOX is the problem of the Spanish right wing. A problem that not only stems from the division of votes between two parties - something that also happens on the left and even more aggravated - but also from the revanchist spirit, almost civil war, that is evident in their programmes and speeches, in their disproportionate and more than demanding way of asking for compensation in seats and positions of responsibility for their meagre contributions in seats - despite the recent and useless gesture, when all the fish is sold, of supporting the PP without asking to enter the government - and for the clear discrepancies raised by those who benefit from such privileges as soon as they enter their respective governments.

Waving the flag of fear in Spain with the slogan that "the right is coming" is one of the easiest and most fruitful things that can be done to take votes away from the only centre-right party, which tries to be balanced and balanced in the face of so much individual and collective nonsense.

In the two recent electoral processes it has become very clear that, if it does not achieve an absolute majority, the Partido Popular by itself is impossible to govern due to the obstacles and demands of VOX, the eccentricities and out-of-tune statements of many or most of its leaders and the minimum programmes that frighten all those who envisage coalition governance between the two parties.

On this occasion, Sánchez, after not having won the elections, but being aware that with his votes and the flock of all those to his left and some on the right (at least formally -PNV and Junts-) he has enough and to spare to return to La Moncloa, although on this occasion, his Frankenstein bet is even stronger than the previous ones and, above all, much more pathetic and harder for the existence and survival of Spain or the solvency of its coffers, at a time that already points to a greater degree of difficulty.

After lying to us all, he has packed his bags and gone on holiday with his family, closing his doors and ears to everyone, even to those who won the elections and who offer him the only possibility of avoiding having to sell or put Spain's integrity and solvency at even greater risk. Moreover, he has done so by making an impromptu trip to Morocco, a country with which it is public and notorious that it has been in debt for a long time and which does not lower its pressure and demands towards Spain despite the many concessions already made by Sánchez. Almost all of them serious concessions, made without consulting with anyone, not even with the bodies that we have for these matters and with which it is mandatory to carry out such consultations.

The separatists, coup plotters, terrorists and even the Government of Gibraltar and many of the countries on the other side of the pond, are celebrating the fact that Sánchez has everything to gain in this attack, while half of the Spanish people are left with their noses to the grindstone, waiting for what new misfortunes this "aggravated" situation will bring us and trying to explain what went wrong on the 23rd, despite the fact that all the polls, including those of the CIS, did not even come close to giving this result.

It was us and our mania or chauvinism of never listening to those who really know about politics, who despite the continuous decreasing results of VOX, continued to trust in betting on a losing horse -even despite the example of the honourable withdrawal of Ciudadanos from the electoral process, to facilitate the situation and not lose more votes against Sanchismo- who have facilitated this situation to be repeated and aggravated without realising that with this type of "games", we are on the same path as those once democratic countries which, from Pinochet's dictatorship to the present day, have been involved in various internal political processes - most notably the manoeuvres of Erdogan and Putin, plus a long list of Latin American countries such as Venezuela and other Bolivarian countries - resulting in the disappearance of various democracies through their demise. This demise does not usually occur suddenly or with the people taking to the streets in arms. But rather with the advance of a slow and progressive evil, which begins with the weakening of the essential institutions and bodies of the state, to which is added the iron control of the media and the press and ends with the putrefaction of the forms, modes, uses and customs of traditional and purely democratic political norms to turn those countries into autocratic entities, governed, in the whole process, by egomaniacal tyrants with great popular pull.
