The Three Cultures Foundation hosts the presentation of the book 'Thought of Islam' and the tribute to Professor Miguel Cruz Hernández

The Three Cultures Foundation presents the work that brings together the papers presented at the conference held in Alcalá la Real in 2021 dedicated to Miguel Cruz Hernández.

Born in Malaga, Professor Cruz Hernández developed his work as an academic at the universities of Salamanca and Autónoma de Madrid, institutions in which he demonstrated his dimension as an Islamologist and his specialisation in Andalusian thought and thinkers such as Averroes, Ibn Hazm or Ibn Masarra, as well as on the history of Al-Andalus.

A year after his death in 2020, a conference dedicated to him was held in Alcalá la Real, in which his academic projection and international renown were highlighted, and whose papers make up the book published by UCOpress-Editorial University of Cordoba, which will be presented at Tres Culturas on Tuesday 18 April at 18:30.

Pedro Mantas España, from the University of Cordoba, and Carmen Ruiz Bravo-Villasante, from the Autonomous University of Madrid, will participate in the presentation ceremony as coordinators of the book; Adolfo Cruz Alberich, son of the honoured professor; and Emilio González Ferrín, from the University of Seville.
