CRITTA, the catalyst for investment in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region

With sustained investment momentum, the result of a forward-looking strategy for the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the Regional Investment Centre for this region has confirmed its role as a catalyst for investment.
Thanks to a clear strategy based on four basic principles: ‘simplify, support, converge and promote’, the CRITTA continues to make northern Morocco a sustainable economic magnet.
Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima is currently the second region in Morocco in terms of business creation, with 13,882 new structures in 2024, representing 15% of the national total.

Over the past year, the Regional Investment Centre has succeeded in fulfilling its various missions to improve the business climate in the region, attract more foreign direct investment and support project developers throughout Morocco, especially those who choose the region as a destination for their investments.
In this regard, the centre has achieved record figures that reflect the efforts made both inside and outside the country to promote Made in Morocco and consolidate the investment dynamic in the region.
Among the significant achievements that marked CRITTA's work in 2024, the following stand out:
- 737 projects approved by the CRUI, representing 88% of applications examined.
- 85 billion dirhams in approved investments.
- 70,000 stable jobs expected in the long term.
- 4.13 days: significant improvement in average processing time.
- A stronger international presence, closer to investors, through “Doing Business” events to promote the region's offering and networking.
- Increase in the proportion of applications examined favourably, with a rise of 26 points between 2021 and 2024.
- 4.13 days for CRUI examination.
- 6,200 companies/project leaders supported.
- 153 conciliation cases resolved.
- 20 opportunities discovered.
- 4 projects in the implementation phase.
- 2 stops in Extremadura and Valencia, and 600 participants in ‘Doing Business’.
