The World Olive Oil Exhibition, the most important international olive oil fair, will host different gastronomic activities in its ninth edition with Kike Piñeiro.

In addition to being the world meeting point for the entire olive oil sector, the WOOE aims to promote and raise awareness of the different types of olive oil and how to use them. To this end, it has organised multiple activities to bring the liquid gold closer to all the attendees so that they can taste the infinite number of applications that olive oil has in gastronomy.  

During the two days of the fair, Kike Piñeiro, chef and co-owner of A Horta d'Obradoiro (Santiago de Compostela), together with his partner Eloy Cancela, will be offering a showcooking session in the Gourmet Area. Under the name "Savour the magic of EVOO", the Galician chef will offer a gastronomic proposal in which Extra Virgin Olive Oil is integrated in each of them in a surprising way. Designed to be taken on a picnic, the dishes to be tasted are a Pulled Pork Brioche; Bonito-Quinoa Poke; EVOO with Biscuits, Baked Apple, Yoghurt and EVOO, Spirulina Smoothie with EVOO; Citrus with EVOO and Chocolate and Sweet EVOO.  

In addition, Kike Piñeiro will also be the creator of the showcooking that will take place on Tuesday 8th at 2 p.m. in the Tasting Room with the oils awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Each of the categories of EVOO awarded in the "Food from Spain" competition will be incorporated into a mouthful, in order to seek maximum integration with the dish, according to its bitterness, pungency and fruitiness.  

Under the name "Roots of the countryside and the sea", Kike Piñeiro has prepared a menu consisting of Confit Leek with Almond Praline, Sea Urchin with Coconut and Sea Ramallo Caviar and Lourenzá Beans with "Galo Celta" in EVOO. For the first of the dishes, the winner of the Sweet Green Fruity category was used, the sea urchin dish was made with the winner of the Ripe Fruity category and the beans with Galo Celta were made with the EVOO of the Bitter Green Fruity category. This ninth edition of the WOOE is being held in parallel with HIP, the fair dedicated to the restaurant, hotel and catering industry, sectors that are beginning to wake up after the pandemic hiatus and which will also have their space at IFEMA.  The fair is promoted by the company Pomona Keepers and IFEMA Madrid, with Globalcaja as the main sponsor.
